From the queen consort Maria Palaiologina to the writers and feminists Rebecca West and Simone de Beauvoir, the tragic love story of Neta Koen, the palaces of local upper-class families such as Shkaperda or Arabic house, to the story of Fanka and Joshe Gavrilovi, the locals whose house on the main square by the river Vardar bordered Mother Teresa’s house.
